Christmas champion purchased from Wharfedale Auction Mart at Otley

Locally sourced meat is at the heart of our business here at Keelham. This is why our co-owner James Robertshaw visits local auction marts every week to handpick the best to supply our in house butchers with the tastiest local meat available. James knows his way around livestock and was taught how to select the best by his father Andrew, who started Keelham in the 1970s, and his Grandad Harry, who ran a butchers shop in Halifax, well before people had cars to be able to access us here.

We have been crowned Farm Shop of the Year at the Butcher's Shop of the Year Awards 2012

We were over the moon yesterday when we received the Farm Shop of the Year award at the Butcher's Shop of the Year Awards 2012 in London. We have been finalists for the last three consecutive years and now to be officially the Farm Shop of the Year is a brilliant achievement. Since 1929 the Robertshaw family have been supplying local people with great tasting affordable local meat, and as the farm shop has changed over the past 40 years or so butchery has continued to be at the heart of everything we do. This summer during our make over we doubled the size of our butchers counter, enabling us to offer new homemade products such as our ever popular ready to cook range, and an ever wider range of meat and game. Thank you to all our loyal customers for their support.

British Rose Veal - the facts

In the past few years, there's been a growing interest in high-welfare rose veal in this country, and at Keelham we’re all for it.
